Gammi Model 1986 bibs have 6-panel construction; 4.5-inch (144 mm), sublimated side panels; rubber-band leg grippers and no logos. The 200-gram Lycra even has a semi-gloss finish. The Italian-made pad I chose is not-too-thick and no-too-thin.
If you’re like me, you want your kit to match your bike. Vintage jerseys (and many reproductions) are relatively easy to find for sale, but gloves and bib shorts are not. The Lycra in most vintage items lost its stretch and elasticity decades ago. And modern replica bibs have their own issues. Most of the bibs made today—as they should be—are designed for the needs of today’s racers and feature modern cuts and the latest fabric technology.
When I ride one of my vintage bikes, I want to wear a pair of 6-panel bibs with simple full-length panels on both legs like my heroes wore in the 1980s and 1990s.
Gammi Look bib shorts were designed using a pair of vintage bibs for reference. Like the original team shorts they have one white panel on the right leg and a light grey panel on the left leg. The colors match our Look and La Vie Claire gloves.
All Gammi bib shorts have simple 6-panel construction; 4.5-inch (144 mm), sublimated side panels and rubber-band leg grippers. The 200-gram Lycra even has a semi-gloss finish. The Italian-made pad I chose is not-too-thick and not-too-thin.
We currently offer a limited number of bib short designs that match some of the team gloves we sell. If you have a special need, please let us know. We'd love to help you get the custom bibs your need.
For custom graphics, which we love to do, please contact us via email, so we can discuss what you want. Bibs with custom graphics start at $125.
